Our 2018 goal in one word is “Proposito”. Purpose. Mosaico Comunidad Cristiana is taking Matthew 28:19-20 to heart in Cholula, Mexico. Making disciples, baptizing into Christ, and teaching to obey God’s commands. Here’s some of the things we’ve been doing that goes along with that great commission:

It is always a good time when Mosaico serves food at El Pozo’s weekly “En Vivo”. And its a good way to make new friends.

I don’t know what it is like to be a grandparent and I certainly can wait a while for that stage of life. But, I almost felt like it when a second generation was baptized into Christ. We celebrated with mom and dad (Franco and Galdy) when they baptized Daniela into Christ. It was a great day!

March 2-4 found six women from Mosaico at an annual Women’s Retreat.  They were able to travel by bus to the state of Veracruz to meet together with other women from Christian churches from the states of Hidalgo and Mexico.  The fellowship was sweet and the teaching times were poignant.  Tonja had the opportunity to lead a workshop along with our sister-in-law Teri Hancock.  What a joy it was to see the ladies making a craft to remind them of their relationship with Christ.

Meet some of the worship team at Mosaico. I love these guys. And they love Jesus Christ. This group’s average age is just over 23 years old, but they do a great job singing and playing from their hearts and leading others before God’s throne in worship.

Easter Sunday was awesome at Mosaico! We celebrated Christ’s resurrection worshipping the risen Savior together, eating together, an easter egg hunt for the kids. Although the teenagers and young adults who hid the eggs had just as much fun, if not more, than the kids who found them.

El Cinco de Mayo is thought by some to be Mexican independence day, but it is actually the Battle of Puebla Day, a holiday in which mostly just people in the Puebla area observe the successful defense of the Fort Lareto in 1862 against the French. But it is also the day that our son Mitchell graduated from Milligan College in Tennessee. Thankfully, all five of us could attend the graduation ceremony. That’s a big deal to us on a personal level but also because Elsa also graduated from Emanuel Christian Seminary at Milligan.

Elsa and Carlos love Jesus Christ and serve Him. They both came to Christ through CMF’s Globalscope ministry (El Pozo) here in Cholula and were a part of the nucleus that started Mosaico Comunidad Cristiana. The day after Elsa graduated with her masters, she was ordained into Christian ministry. It was such a blessing to be a part of that along with Kami Reed, Nate McDade, and many others who have had the privilege to pour into Elsa and Carlos’ lives.

Keep the ministry of Mosaico in your prayers as we continue to reach out to share the love of Christ in this place and fulfill our purpose in 2018: to be a community of disciples, whose love and service abound in Jesus Christ reaching the different generations in Cholula, Puebla, Mexico and the the ends of the earth.
